Open up Your Closet and Get Advice on What Works Best
for Your Body Type on Howdoesitfit.com
"Let's go shopping!" - three words that are guaranteed to evoke
an emotional response in all women. For most women, the idea of shopping
for new clothing and accessories brings both excitement and anxiety. Why?
Well, simply because the uncertainty of what will be most flattering can
be daunting, and with the variety of clothing stores . . . the options
are endless. And don't forget online shopping, which can be the most accessible,
yet the most challenging of all!
A
New Fashion-Driven Website. Santa Barbara residents and best friends,
Lilly Tam and Tina Mack shared these common frustrations. As they bonded
over their love of fashion, they both found that they were perpetually
disappointed when they bought clothes online. Although they have very
different body types, they both found that what looked amazing on the
6' tall, size 2 model on the website, looked and fit nothing like what
they imagined on themselves. From disappointment sprung a new idea - www.howdoesitfit.com.
The concept behind howdoesitfit.com was an epiphany that came to Lilly
in the middle of the night while brainstorming over ways to resolve her
fashion dilemma. She immediately e-mailed her best friend with an idea
to start a fun and free website where like-minded women of all sizes could
share their fashion finds and get advice.
It's All About the Fit. At howdoesitfit.com, they truly believe
that if something fits well on your body, regardless of your size, it
will look good . . . and we all know how empowering and amazing looking
good feels. Howdoesitfit.com shows photos of real women in real clothing
and encourages users to vote and give supportive advice to each other.

The women who make up the online community of howdoesitfit.com can share
anonymously. The photos on the site highlight the clothing; users don't
even have to show their faces. Anyone can post photos and get answers
to those age-old questions, such as "Do these jeans make my butt
look big?" and "What should I wear to my high school reunion?"
In fact, one of howdoesitfit.com's slogans is "Don't ask your boyfriend,
ask us!" The site even has guest fashion editors, such as Gene Montesano,
the founder of Lucky Brand Jeans, who share their professional opinions
from time to time.
The
Coveted Stuff. On howdoesitfit.com, you can also shamelessly obsess
and slobber over "it" items! A look into one user's closet featured
to-die-for shoes and handbags from such names as Christian Louboutin,
Louis Vuitton and Fendi.
Something Different. Howdoesitfit.com is different from other
sites because it gives users the opportunity to look at real women in
photos that haven't been retouched and judge brands and styles for themselves.
One user recently said, "I can click on a picture of a girl who has
a body type similar to mine, find out where she bought the dress she's
wearing and read the comments of other users. If I like how it looks on
her, it gives me a much better idea of how it might look on me. It saves
me the time and effort of buying things I know won't look good on my body
type."
Participate.
What makes howdoesitfit.com truly successful are the photographs of real
women in their own clothing, so the site encourages friends to photograph
each other or suggests you stand in front of a mirror to photograph yourself
in your outfits. Get snapping!
Coming Soon. A "Style Diary" feature will be added to
the site in the near future, which will allow users to journal their favorite
outfits and accessories and turn their personal style diary into a photo
album or coffee table book.
Saving the World, One Woman at a Time. Okay, so howdoesitfit.com
isn't about saving the world, but the founders of the site believe that
if you look your best, you CAN conquer the world! And shopping . . . well,
with the assistance of howdoesitfit.com, it'll be a piece of cake!!
